We know that there are a lot of soon to be Rad riders waiting patiently for their brand-new electric bike to finally arrive.
Once that magic day comes, we want to make sure you’re ready to jump on and roll out as soon as possible.
That’s why we put together this handy list of tips to guarantee that nothing stands between you and your first Radventure:
1. Stock up on the essentials.
After waiting so long for your bike to arrive, the last thing you want is to suddenly realize that you have to put off your first ride because you're missing a key piece of equipment.
Start shopping for a helmet that's been certified by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. You’ll also want to pick out a high-quality bike lock, preferably one with insurance.
As for tools, we provide everything you’ll need to help you get your bike assembled, but you should also pick out a basic bike tool kit for any maintenance needs that may arise down the road.
This is also a great time to check out our store for any accessories you may need to get the most out of your riding experience, like a Thule Yepp child seat if you’ll be shuttling your kids to school, or a rear rack that’ll help you load up for big weekend projects.
2. Keep an eye on your tracking information.
Shipping dates vary per model, but Rad Power Bikes will email you a FedEx tracking number once your order ships. You can use this to determine your delivery time and plan accordingly to receive your package.
To protect your purchase from the elements or would-be bike thieves, an adult needs to be on-site to receive the package at the time of delivery.
If you can’t make it, make sure you have a friend, relative, or other trusted acquaintance on-hand to handle the drop-off. FedEx also offers delivery options to assist you in receiving your ebike. To access these, click Manage Delivery here.
3. Familiarize yourself with our online resources.
If you have any burning questions you'd like answered before your bike arrives, they're likely addressed in our extensive online help center. Here, you can find product manuals, assembly videos, and a collection of basic maintenance how-to articles.
You should also check out our blog, The Scenic Route. It's packed with DIY tips, up-to-date information on the world of ebikes, and inspiring stories from across the Rad community!
Of course, you can also peruse what some top media outlets have said about our bikes to get the low-down on all their features, like Forbes, WIRED, and CNET.
Hundreds of customers have also weighed in. It’s worth discovering what tips they have to get up-and-running.
4. Get ready for your new bike life!
Once you receive your ebike, you're likely going to be spending a lot of time on it, so you might as well start preparing for this now -- because you'll be too busy riding to do it later!
Brush up on basic bike etiquette before you hit the road.
You can also start mapping the route from home to your favorite destinations. This will give you a solid lay of the land and help you navigate any unexpected obstacles you may come across on your ride.
Then start looking for a riding buddy! If you have a friend that you'd like to see on the trail, you can both earn perks if they purchase the bike through our referral program.
5. Don't try to build a time machine.
While you may be looking for ways to get your bike sooner, we strongly advise you to refrain from attempting to subvert the laws of physics by tinkering on a homemade time machine in your garage.
We asked our expert team of engineers if time travel was even possible. They assured us that it wasn’t and that we should stop bugging them and get back to work. Frankly, if the team behind the RadWagon 4 can’t figure out a way to hack into the universe's temporal groove, we’re pretty sure no one can.
All kidding aside, we know how frustrating this wait can be. We'll be the first to admit that the huge demand for ebikes this spring has been both exciting and beyond our expectations.
We're really looking forward to having you in the Rad family, and we're doing everything we can to speed up shipping times to ensure you have the best customer experience possible. We promise that once you get on your bike, it'll all be worth the wait!
