On Bonus Time with Alfred Morris

On Bonus Time with Alfred Morris

Two-time NFL Pro Bowler Alfred Morris has had a wild year, but he's closing it out with no regrets.

Following standout seasons with the Washington Redskins from 2012-15, Morris was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys and saw his time on the field shrink after the team extended a contract for one of their mainstays.

He's since done stints with the San Francisco 49ers, the Cowboys (again), and most recently the Arizona Cardinals.

Now an NFL free agent, Morris looks at the recent shake-up as a surprisingly positive twist of fate.

“It’s been a tailspin since my last year in Washington, but I’ve grown so much in other areas of my life that I would do it all over again knowing the outcome. I'm a better brother, I'm a better son, I'm a better father, I'm a better husband,” Morris said. “I'm a better all around person because of all the things I went through.”

Bikes have always given Morris time to reflect on what matters.

Growing up, he bonded with his brothers while they built their own bikes, cobbling them together from used parts until they were perfect.

When he was in college, he would explore bike trails and ride down to the beach with his future-wife Lindsey.

Even after he was drafted onto his first NFL team, Morris would ride his bike to the Washington Redskin’s stadium just outside the Beltway.

“It was just more exercise for me,” Morris told us. “It just got me out, cleared my mind.”

These days, Morris is finding those moments of reflection just as valuable. He just has them from behind the handlebars of a RadRover, family in tow.
